Disruption Ahead

This week, we are packing up our house and moving. Well, my wife is packing while I’m at work.
It’s not an easy thing to do when you still have all of your other responsibilities. She’s running kids to work and gymnastics, taking care of a sick toddler, keeping everybody fed, and many, many other things(too many to list here). We have to get packed, but everyday is so full of disruptions!

Isn’t that how life goes? Wouldn’t it be great if things would just go the way we planned? “I just want things to work the way they are supposed to work.”- I say that all the time, but it’s just not realistic is it? Life is full of disruptions.

You know the old saying- “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.” Well, maybe it’s time to embrace disruption. I believe that to make Jesus lord of your life is to invite disruption. Think about it. How likely is it that your plan is the same plan the almighty God of the universe has for you? We say it all the time- “God has a plan”, “God is in control”. If we truly believe that, we shouldn’t expect for things to go the way we plan. We need our plans to be disrupted!

It really comes down to trusting Him. Faith. Know that He does have a plan. Trust that He is good and powerful. And when things don’t go according to your plan, trust that He is quite simply…. well… smarter than you. He sees eternity. He knows the effect of every little detail and He loves you tremendously.

God is much more concerned about the condition of your soul than with how comfortable you are. Trust His plan.
